Scape Accommodation Scholarship


 

By completing this application, you will be considered for the Scape Accommodation Scholarship, subject to meeting the eligibility criteria.

Purpose

The Scape Accommodation Scholarship has been established to support UTS students experiencing financial and/or other educational disadvantages to gain access to subsidised and affordable housing for 12 months following the Scholarship being awarded.

Preference will be given to applicants who can demonstrate financial hardship at the time of award.

Eligibility

  • Apply by the published deadline using the Scape Accommodation Scholarship application form; and
  • Be:
    • an Australian or New Zealand citizen; or
    • the holder of an Australian permanent resident visa or permanent humanitarian visa; or
    • Have temporary asylum seeker or refugee residence status and hold a Temporary Protection Visa (subclass 785), or Safe Haven Enterprise Visa (subclass 790), Bridging Visa A - E and has made an application for a Protection Visa or Temporary Humanitarian Concern Visa (subclass 786).
  • Be commencing or continuing into one of the following courses in the session following selection:
    • A UTS undergraduate or postgraduate coursework degree; or
    • A UTS postgraduate research degree; and
  • Be enrolled or intending to enrol full-time in the Autumn 2026 session proceeding award;
  • To enter into a Rental Tenancy Agreement with Scape that complies with the requirements set out in clause 4;
  • Be able to demonstrate one of the following:
    • Apply through the Universities Admissions Centre (UAC) for an Equity Scholarship or the Educational Access Scheme and therein demonstrate financial disadvantage and/or other education barriers; or
    • Completed one of the following Pathway Programs:
      • U@Uni Academy Program; or
      • UTS UniReady Enabling Program; or
      • UTS Big Picture Learning Australia (BPLA) admissions scheme; or
  • Be relocating or planning to relocate from an outer regional, remote or very remote area in Australia as determined by Rural, Remote and Metropolitan Area (RRMA) classification tool

Before starting your application

Part 1: Applicants will need to apply through the Universities Admissions Centre (UAC) for an Equity Scholarship, or get an independent financial assessment through the Financial Assistance Service that confirms they meet the preferential criteria.

Part 2: Prepare your written statements in a text document, do not use any special formatting in your statements (i.e. no bullet points, numbering etc). Please keep each statement to a maximum of 300 words:

  • What influenced your decision to undertake your chosen UTS program and what is your motivation to succeed in your studies?
  • Please outline how the scholarship would assist you perform at a high level than would be the case?

Closing date

Applications close at 11:59 PM on Monday 10 November 2025. All applications must be submitted online by this date and incomplete applications cannot be considered.
