Doctors & Co Scholarship


 

By completing this application form you will be considered for Doctors & Co Scholarship, subject to meeting the relevant eligibility criteria.

The Doctors & Co Scholarship has been established to provide financial support for a commencing student residing in Greater Western Region (Sydney, New South Wales), who can demonstrate one or more disadvantages, and whom are from a Culturally and Linguistically Diverse (C&LD) background. The scholarship aims to assist them with the costs of study in a UTS an undergraduate or postgraduate program.

Eligibility

To be eligible for the Doctors & Co Scholarship, an applicant must:

  • Be an Australian or New Zealand citizen, or the holder of an Australian permanent resident visa or humanitarian protection visa; and
  • Be residing in the Greater Western Sydney Region at the time of applying; and
  • Be enrolled or intending to enrol full-time in a UTS undergraduate or postgraduate coursework degree as a commencing student. Preference will be given to applicants in the UTS Faculty of Health or UTS Business School degree in the session of award; and
  • Apply for a Universities Admissions Centre (UAC) Equity Scholarship and therein in demonstrate one or more educational barriers:

    • Carer responsibilities;
    • Medical disadvantage;
    • Sole parent;
    • English language difficulty;
    • Refugee status;
    • Financial hardship
  • Be from a Culturally and Linguistically Diverse (C&LD) background that meet one of the following criteria:

    • Arrived in Australia as an immigrant or refugee from a non-English speaking country; or
    • A child of migrant parent/s of whom are from a non-English speaking country; and
    • Applicants must provide evidence of cultural and linguistically diverse background or affiliation: Refugee visa, documentation that proves that both of your parents are migrants from a non- English speaking background (birth certificate), documentation that proves the applicant is their child (birth certificate) or Letter of confirmation from the President or Chairperson of a cultural community group you belong to, including the organisation's common seal, and
  • All candidates must apply via UTS Scholarship online application form including provision of a Curriculum Vitae outlining education and work experience to date; and
  • All candidates must be available to attend an interview (online or in person).

Before starting your application

Prepare your written statements (maximum of 300 words each) in a text document, do not use any special formatting in your statements (i.e. no bullet points, numbering etc).

  • Describe your motivation to succeed in your UTS course.
  • Describe some of your professional and/or personal accomplishments and what did you learn from them. What were the strengths and skills you used to achieve them?
  • Please describe your motivation to contribute to the community.

Additionally, please prepare the following to submit:

  • Your UAC Equity Scholarship number;
  • Your Curriculum Vitae;
  • Any supporting evidence to demonstrate your CALD Background (as per eligibility requirement).

Outcome notification

Applicants will be notified of the outcome after the interviews take place.
