By completing this application form, you will be considered for the Animal Logic Scholarship, subject to meeting the eligibility criteria.
Purpose
The Animal Logic Scholarship provides financial support to talented individuals from under-represented groups or those experiencing financial hardship to enable them to participate in postgraduate study in the animation, visual effects and visualisation industries.
This scholarship will assist the Recipient(s) to complete their course by offering a stipend that can be used at the Recipient’s discretion to assist with living and/or tuition costs.
Animal Logic is recognised as one of the world’s leading independent 3D animation studios, producing award winning productions for over 30 years.
Eligibility
To be eligible for the Scholarship, an applicant must meet all the following criteria:
- Be an Australian or New Zealand citizen, or the holder of an Australian permanent resident visa or permanent humanitarian visa; and
- Be enrolled in or intend to enrol in the Master of Animation and Visualisation, and
- Apply under one (1) only of the following categories:
- Diversity - Demonstrate a high-level of aptitude, enthusiasm and proficiency from an applicant from a diverse and under-represented background or group, such as (but not excluded to) ethnic diversity, gender or sexual orientation, neuro-diversity and First Nations’ Heritage.
- Financial Hardship - Demonstrate a high-level of aptitude, enthusiasm and proficiency from an applicant that due to financial hardship, might otherwise not be able to complete the course.
- All candidates must apply using the UTS online Scholarships Application form to be eligible.
- In addition, applicants must complete the UAC Equity Scholarship application through the Universities Admissions Centre (UAC) therein demonstrating financial disadvantage and/or other Educational Barrier/s that may include:
- Regional or remote background
- Sole parent responsibilities
- Carer responsibilities
- Long-term medical condition / disability or ongoing effect of abuse
- Indigenous Australian
- Refugee status
- All candidates must be available to attend an interview in person (online or face-to-face).
Before starting your application
If you have already completed your UAC Equity Scholarship application, please make sure you have your UAC Equity Scholarship application number with you.
Prepare your written statements in a text document, do not use any special formatting in your statements (i.e. no bullet points, numbering etc). Please keep each statement to a maximum of 300 words.
- Please describe your motivation to succeed in the field of animation, visual effects and/or visualisation.
- Outline an instance where you have used initiative and sought an opportunity to advance your professional and personal life
- Explain how your personal circumstances align to the goals of the scholarship to increase representation of under-represented groups in the animation, visual effects and visualisation industries.
- How will this scholarship assist you in achieving your educational goals, and perform in the Master of Animation and Visualisation than otherwise would be the case?
Closing date
Applications close at 11:59 PM on Monday, 13 January 2025. All applications must be submitted online by this date and incomplete applications cannot be considered.
Interview process
Shortlisted applicants will be invited to attend an interview in late January 2025. Please note that scholarships will only be awarded to applicants who attend an interview.
Outcome Notification
Applicants will be receiving their application outcome prior to Monday, 17 February 2025.
