Eligibility criteria
To be eligible for the scholarship an applicant must:
- Be Australian or New Zealand citizen, or the holder of an Australian permanent resident visa or permanent humanitarian visa; and
- Be enrolled in one of the following courses;
- Bachelor of Engineering (Honours), majoring in Civil Engineering or Civil and Environmental Engineering; or
- Bachelor of Engineering (Honours), Diploma in Engineering Practice or Industry Practice degree, majoring in Civil Engineering or Civil and Environmental Engineering; or
- Bachelor of Construction Project Management
- Bachelor of Property Economics
- Bachelor of Design in Architecture
- Be in the second year of an eligible degree (minimum of 36 Credit Points or equivalent) at the time of applying;
- Have achieved a minimum of Distinction average (75 +) in their first year
- Apply for this Scholarship online using the UTS Scholarship Application Form; and
- May need to be available to attend an interview in person at the discretion of the Selection Committee.
Selection criteria
- Likelihood that the Scholarship will increase the ability of the Recipient to complete their UTS course at a higher level of performance than would otherwise be the case
- Initiative and leadership in extra-curricular and non-academic activities
- Demonstrated motivation to pursue a career in the construction and building industry
- Academic Merit (WAM).

- Confirmation of Australian or New Zealand citizenship OR the holder of an Australian permanent visa or permanent humanitarian visa
- Be enrolled in one of the following UTS undergraduate programs:
- Bachelor of Engineering (Honours), majoring in Civil Engineering or Civil and Environmental Engineering; or
- Bachelor of Engineering (Honours), Diploma in Engineering Practice or Industry Practice degree, majoring in Civil Engineering or Civil and Environmental Engineering; or
- Bachelor of Construction Project Management
- Bachelor of Property Economics
- Bachelor of Design in Architecture
- Be in the second year of an eligible degree and completed a minimum of 36 Credit Point (or equivalent) at the time of application
- Have achieved a minimum of Distinction average (75 +) in their first year
- Supporting statements: Prepare answers for the questions below (maximum of 300 words for each question, do not use bullet points or any special formatting):
- What motivated you to pursue a career in the construction and building industry? Please include any experiences, influences, or goals that have shaped your interest.
- Describe a time you showed initiative and leadership in extra-curricular or non-academic activities.
- How will this scholarship support you to complete your course degree at a higher level of performance than would otherwise be the case?
- Complete the various sections of this online form (e.g. personal details, eligibility criteria, declaration) using the blue 'Next' and 'Back' buttons to move through the various sections. Click the blue 'Finish' button at the end to submit your application.

- Being eligible does not guarantee a scholarship.
- Applicants are ranked against the selection criteria and scholarships are awarded to applicants who best meet those criteria as part of a competitive process.
