Barpa Indigenous Construction Scholarship


 


By submitting this application for you will be considered for the Barpa Indigenous Construction Scholarship subject to meeting the eligibility criteria.

Eligibility Criteria

Applicants must:
  • Be of Australian Aboriginal and/or Torres Strait Islander descent and provide either:
    • a Confirmation of Aboriginality from a Local Aboriginal Land Council or other Aboriginal or Torres Strait Islander organisation; or
    • a UTS Statutory Declaration form accompanied by two written references from Aboriginal and/or Torres Strait Islander people from the applicant’s community who can confirm their identity and are not an immediate family member; and
  • Be enrolled full-time in the Bachelor of Construction Project Management (C10214).
  • All applicants must provide a curriculum vitae.
  • All applicants must apply using the UTS online Scholarship Application form to be eligible.
  • All applicants must be able to attend an interview, if required.

  • Confirmation of Aboriginality: Applicants must upload either a Confirmation of Aboriginality or a UTS Statutory Declaration (and two written references) as part of this application. If you do not have this documentation still apply but it must be provided before any scholarship can be awarded. Before Starting Your Application


Prepare your written statements (maximum of 300 words each) in a text document, as per the questions below. To ensure that your statements save correctly, please do not use any special formatting such as bullet points, hyperlinks, or italics.
  • Describe your motivation to succeed in your studies. Why did you choose Construction Project Management and what do you hope to achieve with your university degree?

  • Please describe an instance you have sought an opportunity (or opportunities) to advance your professional and/or personal life.

  • Tell us how your values and goals align with those of Barpa - including commitment to the cultural identity and heritage of the Indigenous community and drive to make positive change and opportunities for Indigenous Australians nationally.

  • Describe your interest in a work placement at Barpa.
